We are delighted to announce our newest garden tour to the lush, rolling landscapes of Normandy. Located in northern France, Normandy shares a similar climate to England that makes it an ideal place for gardeners. Normandy of course has a long history: within easy reach of Paris, members of the elite have long built chateaux here, several of which we will visit. You will also visit the iconic cliffs at Etretat and the charming town of Honfleur.

    June is the peak season for Normandy’s gardens and this tour takes you to a range of gardens: from a Neoclassical example to the romantic gardens at Boutemont and the contemporary gardens at Etretat.

    MONET'S GARDEN AT GIVERNY

    Our tour will visit Giverny prior to public opening (subject to confirmation in spring 2027). You will visit the waterlily pond, the interior of the house, and learn all about Monet, his home, and how this property influenced his art.

  • This tour is for garden and history lovers who want to discover Normandy’s bucolic countryside and dramatic coastline. June is the best time of year to visit this region and the gardens will be in full bloom!

    Normandy is rich in cultural history. While this tour is focused on the region’s gardens, we will also visit the iconic cliffs at Etretat and the charming town Honfleur. A guided visit to the military sites is available as an early arrival add-on. Please indicate the time of booking if this is something you are interested in.

  • This is a moderately paced trip, where we are typically out during the day for 7-8 hours, departing the hotel around 9am and returning in the early evening around 4pm. You will have two longer afternoons at your leisure as well as free time to explore Honfleur and Etreat.

    This tour is suitable for most fitness levels. You should be comfortable standing on your feet for 1-2 hours at a time and walking up and down stairs and over uneven terrain. Historical buildings might not have elevators and not all buildings in France are air conditioned. If you have mobility concerns please speak with us before booking.

    One suitcase! Each traveler one this tour is permitted one suitcase measuring no more than 26 × 18 × 12 inches.

    • This trip begins in Deauville at 7pm on June 12th, 2027.

    • Travelers are responsible for getting to Deauville on their own and we are happy to provide assistance. You can either take the train from Paris or hire a private driver.

    • Our final hotel (the Domaine de Primard) is located 1.5 hours from the Paris-CDG airport. A transfer to the airport is included on departure day.

    • For this tour, we recommend flying in and out of Paris-Charles de Gaulle airport (CDG).

    • Extending your trip? We always recommend arriving at least one night before your tour begins. For this tour, we recommend spending a few nights in Paris before and we happy to provide suggestions for alternatives.

  • Yes! We are more than happy to assist you with hotel reservations, private transfers, and train tickets for your travels before and/or after our tour.
