  • VIST & LUNCH AT A PRIVATE VILLA

    This tour includes a visit to a privately-owned Renaissance villa. The owner will guide us through his family’s ancestral home and then we will enjoy lunch together.

  • PRIVATE CONCERT

    This tour features an evening at a privately-owned 17th-century villa that has a collection of rare 18th-century musical instruments. We will enjoy an aperitif in the garden followed by a private concert of the instruments in the frescoed rooms. The evening ends with dinner together at the villa.

  • EARLY HOURS VISIT TO THE PALAZZO BORROMEO

    Isola Bella is one of the Italian Lake’s most visited places. We have arranged a special early hours visit to the palace and gardens before they open to the general public, allowing you to experience this magnificent estate in complete tranquility.

  • LUNCH & TASTING AT A LOCAL CHEESEMONGER

    Your trip to Italy would not be complete with sampling the local cuisine! We will eat well throughout this trip and our tour includes a chance to sample the local cheeses of northern Italy.

  • FIVE-STAR LUXURY HOTEL STAYS AT LAKE-FRONT HOTELS

    Your trip to the Italian Lakes would not be complete without staying at the region’s top lake-front hotels. This tour features three-night stays at the Palazzo Aminta in Stresa and the Grand Hotel Villa Serbelloni in Bellagio.

    • This trip is for those who love gardens, art, and architecture as well as luxury hotels and a slower travel pace. You will visit the most famous villas and gardens of the Italian Lakes, as well as lesser known private and historical sites. If you enjoy staying at 5-star hotels with a range of amenities, this is also the right trip for you.

    • The tour begins at 1pm on April 18th. You should arrive in Milan at least one night before.

    • You can depart anytime on April 24th. Our hotel in Bellagio is 1.5 hours from the Milan-Malpensa airport.

    • One suitcase! Each traveler is permitted one suitcase measuring no more than 26 × 18 × 12 inches.

  • This is not our most active tour, but it still requires a moderate fitness level. You should still be comfortable being on your feet for 1-2 hours at a time, walking over uneven terrain, and up and down a flight of stairs at the gardens and villas we visit (many historical buildings in Italy do not have elevators). The Lakes region in generally is hilly (it’s located at the foot of the Alps!) and you should be prepared for some up and down hill walking.

    In Bellagio, our hotel is located at the doorstep of the town center. While plenty of shops and restaurants are accessible from the hotel without having to walk uphill, to explore the town further you will need to walk uphill. Stresa and Milan are both pretty flat.
